Upcoming Speaker – Christiane Hohmann

Christiane Hohmann will be our speaker for our meeting on Tuesday, September 14. She will speak on "World Economic Problems and the EU: Why Problems are Hard to Solve"

Ms. Hohmann is a political counselor at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United States. During 2007–2010, she served as spokesperson of the European Commission in the area of External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy. Prior to that, she worked in the European Commission External Relations Directorate General, Office for Transatlantic Relations. In addition to serving as Deputy Ambassador to Cameroon (2000–2003), she has also worked in the German Foreign Office in various areas of responsibility, including the Desk for Benelux, Austria and Switzerland and in the Office for humanitarian assistance. She is a graduate of the Humboldt University in Berlin.
